Overview of the IES/ISS Examination 2025
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), New Delhi, is set to conduct the Indian Economic Service (IES) Recruitment Examination 2025 and Indian Statistical Service Examination 2025. This examination aims to recruit Junior Time Scale Economic/Statistical Officers under the Indian Economic Service (IES) of the Ministry of Finance, Department of Economic Affairs, and the Indian Statistical Service (ISS) of the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation. The examination is scheduled to commence on June 20th, 2025.
Online applications are being invited from eligible candidates for the Economic/Statistical Officer positions (Advertisement No.07/2025-IES/ISS).
The recruitment examination will be held at various centers across the country according to the rules published by the Ministry of Finance (Dept. of Economic Affairs) and the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation.
About UPSC Indian Economic/Statistical Service Examination 2025
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is responsible for issuing guidelines for selection and the final conduct of the annual Indian Economic/Statistical Service Examination. To qualify for the Central Government Economic Services 2025, candidates need a Post-Graduate Degree in Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics/ Econometrics from a recognized University. For the Statistical Service Exam, the minimum qualification and maximum age for this recruitment examination are 30 years.

- Age Limit: 21-30 years as of 1st August 2025. Age relaxation as per Government of India rules.
- Qualification: A Post-Graduate Degree in Economics/ Applied Economics/ Business Economics/ Econometrics from a recognized University.
Statistical Officer
- Vacancies: 35
- Age Limit: 21-30 years as of 1st August 2025. Age relaxation as per Government of India rules.
- Qualification: A Bachelor's Degree with Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Applied Statistics as one of the subjects or a Master's degree in Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Applied Statistics from a recognized University.

Online Application Fee
An application fee of ₹200/- is to be paid in any branch of SBI by cash, through SBI Net Banking, or using Visa/Master Credit/Debit Card. SC/ ST/ PH/ Women candidates are exempted from fee payment. OBC candidates are required to pay full fees.
Modification of Profile and OTR Application
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has introduced a facility to modify the profile of candidates and the submitted OTR application for seven days after submission. Modifications can be made from 05/03/2025 to 11/03/2025 for the Indian Economic Service Recruitment Exam 2025 and the Indian Statistical Service Recruitment Exam 2025.
