About SSC Stenographer Recruitment Examination 2025
The Stenographer Group-C and Group-D Recruitment Examination 2025 is an annual recruitment exam by SSC to select candidates for the Stenographer posts. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts a Computer Based Examination for recruitment of Stenographer Grade 'C' (Group 'B', Non-Gazetted) and Stenographer Grade 'D' (Group 'C') for various Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations in the Government of India annually.
For the 2025 Stenographers recruitment examination, only candidates with the required stenography skills are eligible to apply. The minimum qualification is a 12th pass for the Stenographer post.
SSC Stenographer Recruitment 2025 Vacancies
- Stenographers Grade 'C': Age: 18-30 years as of 01/08/2025, Age relaxations as per rules, Qualification: Must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent from a recognized Board or University, Pay Scale: ₹4600 and ₹4200 (pre-revised)
- Stenographers Grade 'D': Age: 18-27 years as of 01/08/2025, Age relaxations as per rules, Qualification: Must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent from a recognized Board or University, Pay Scale: ₹2400 (pre-revised)
Application Fee
The application fee is ₹100/- to be paid through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or using Visa, MasterCard, Maestro RuPay Credit or Debit cards, or in cash at SBI Branch by generating an SBI Challan. There is no fee for SC/ ST/ PH/ Ex-Servicemen and Women candidates.
Selection Process
SSC will hold an Open Competitive Computer Based Examination for direct recruitment to the Stenographer posts from August 6th to August 11th, 2025.
Examination Scheme
The Computer Based Examination will assess candidates in the following subjects:
- General Intelligence & Reasoning
- General Awareness
- English Language & Comprehension
Candidates shortlisted in the Computer Based Examination will be required to appear for a Skill Test in Stenography. Candidates will be given one dictation for 10 minutes in English or Hindi (as opted by the candidates in the online Application Form) at a speed of 100 words per minute (w.p.m.) for the post of Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and 80 w.p.m. for the post of Stenographer Grade ‘D’.
