State Bank of India (SBI) is conducting the Circle Based Officers (CBO) recruitment for the year 2025. This annual recruitment presents a valuable opportunity for individuals seeking a banking career, particularly within SBI.

Candidates must apply for CBO vacancies in only one State in 2025. Selected candidates will be posted in the Circle/State corresponding to the vacancy they were selected for.
Applicants for vacancies in a specific State must demonstrate proficiency (reading, writing, and understanding) in the designated local language of that State. A language proficiency test will be part of the selection process.
The interview carries 50 marks. Candidates must achieve the minimum qualifying marks in the interview to be considered for final selection, as determined by the Bank.
SBI Circle Based Officers Recruitment 2025 Vacancies
- Circle Based Officers (CBO): 2964 vacancies (Current-2600, Backlog-364) across various circles in India.
- Age: 21-30 years as of 30/04/2025
- Qualification: Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University or equivalent recognised by the Central Government.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience (as of 30/04/2025) as an officer in any Scheduled Commercial Bank or Regional Rural Bank.
- Pay Scale: JMGS-I ₹48480-85920/-
Application Fee
An application fee of ₹750/- (₹125/- for SC/ST/PWD) is payable online.
Selection Process
The selection process consists of an Online Written Test (tentatively in July 2025), Screening, and Interview. The online written test includes a 2-hour Objective Test (120 marks) and a Descriptive Test (50 marks). The Descriptive Test follows the Objective Test, requiring candidates to type answers on the computer.
The objective test is 2 hours long and comprises 4 sections: English Language, Banking Knowledge, General Awareness/Economy, and Computer Aptitude (total 120 marks). The Descriptive Test is 30 minutes and assesses English Language skills (Letter Writing & Essay) with two questions for 50 marks.
